Refund Policy
This Refund Policy explains how cancellations, advance (deposit) payments, store vouchers, card processing, and Stripe-handled payments work for bookings and services with A&A Auto Detailing (“we”, “us”, “our”). By paying an advance online or confirming a booking, you agree to this policy.
1. Scope
This policy applies to:
- Online bookings and advance (deposit) payments on our website
- Walk-in and in-store payments for detailing and related services
- Payments processed through our payment partners, including Stripe and other card gateways
- Store credit vouchers issued in place of cash refunds
It does not replace mandatory consumer protections that apply by law in your jurisdiction. Where local law requires a remedy we cannot waive, that law prevails.
2. Advance payments & deposits (no cash refund)
When a package or booking requires an advance payment, that amount reserves your appointment time and materials. Advances are treated as non-refundable deposits once the charge succeeds.
- No refund to card / bank / Stripe: We do not return advance payments to the original payment method (including Stripe).
- Store voucher instead: Eligible cancellations or changes are settled by issuing a store credit voucher equal to the advance paid minus any non-refundable processing / gateway fees.
- Voucher use: The voucher may be applied to a future booking or in-store purchase with us, subject to the voucher’s expiry and terms stated when it is issued.
- No cash value: Store vouchers have no cash surrender value and are not redeemable for cash unless required by applicable law.
2.1 Cancellation & reschedule windows
- More than 24 hours before appointment: Cancel or reschedule and we will issue a store credit voucher for the eligible advance amount (fees excluded as above).
- Within 24 hours of appointment: The advance is forfeited as a late-cancellation fee (no voucher), except where we cancel or we agree otherwise in writing for documented emergencies.
- No-show: Failure to arrive within a reasonable grace period is treated as a late cancellation; the advance is forfeited (no voucher).
- We cancel or cannot perform the service: You receive a store credit voucher for the full advance (and any processing fee we choose to absorb), or another remedy we offer in writing. Cash/Stripe refunds of advances remain unavailable under this policy unless required by law or our payment provider’s mandatory rules.
3. Completed services & final payments
- Once a service is completed and accepted (including signed completion / satisfaction where applicable), amounts paid for that completed work are final.
- If you believe work was incomplete or defective, contact us within 7 days of the service date. We may offer re-work, a partial store voucher, or another goodwill remedy at our discretion after inspection.
- Tips / gratuities are voluntary and non-refundable once collected.
4. Card processing fees
Card and online gateway fees charged to you as a pass-through cost (shown at checkout where applicable) are non-refundable. Those fees are not included in store voucher amounts.
5. Stripe & card network refund rules
Online card payments may be processed by Stripe (or another processor we configure). The following reflects how card refunds generally work when a merchant issues a refund through Stripe, and how that interacts with our advance policy:
- Our practice for advances: We do not initiate Stripe refunds for advance / deposit payments. Eligible cases are handled with a store credit voucher only.
- If a Stripe refund is issued (for example, for a rare exception we approve in writing, or where law requires it): funds return to the original payment method via the card networks. Timing is typically 5–10 business days after we submit the refund, and can take longer depending on your bank or card issuer. We do not control issuer posting times.
- Stripe processing fees: When a charge is refunded through Stripe, Stripe’s processing fee is often not returned to the business. Any such cost may be deducted from amounts we credit to you, or absorbed by us at our discretion.
- Partial refunds: If we ever approve a partial money refund via Stripe, only the approved portion is returned to the card; remaining value may be issued as store credit.
- Disputes & chargebacks: Filing a chargeback with your bank instead of contacting us may delay resolution and can result in the booking being cancelled and voucher rights being suspended while the dispute is open. We respond to Stripe / network dispute processes with booking and policy evidence. Unjustified chargebacks may lead to refusal of future bookings.
- Stripe’s platform terms: Stripe’s services are also subject to Stripe’s legal terms and privacy policy. Those documents govern the processor–merchant relationship; this Refund Policy governs your relationship with A&A Auto Detailing for booking advances and services.
6. Store credit vouchers
- Issued for the eligible advance amount after approved cancellation / our cancellation.
- Single-purpose credit toward our services or products unless stated otherwise.
- Expiry, store scope, and stacking rules are shown on the voucher or in the email we send.
- Lost or unused expired vouchers are not replaced except at our discretion.
- Vouchers are non-transferable unless we approve a transfer in writing.
7. International & consumer-standard principles
We align this policy with widely accepted consumer and e-commerce practices, including:
- Clear pre-purchase disclosure: Non-refundable advances and voucher-only remedies are disclosed before you pay (this page, booking checkout notices, and confirmation messages).
- Service appointments: Time-reserved personal services are commonly treated as exempt from open-ended “cooling-off” cash refunds once the slot is reserved and payment is taken, provided terms were clear — which is our position for deposits.
- Fair dealing: If we cannot deliver the booked service, we provide a voucher (or another written remedy) rather than leaving you without recourse.
- Local law: Customers in Alberta, Canada, and elsewhere retain any non-waivable rights under applicable consumer protection legislation. Nothing here limits those rights.
- Distance / online sales: Where a jurisdiction grants a mandatory withdrawal right for certain online purchases, that right may not apply to personalized or dated appointment services once performance has begun or the slot is reserved under disclosed terms. If a mandatory right applies to your situation, contact us and we will honor what the law requires.
8. How to request a voucher or review
- Email or call the store where you booked, with your booking reference / order number.
- State whether you need to cancel, reschedule, or report a service issue.
- We confirm eligibility under this policy and, where applicable, email your store credit voucher.
Contact details are on our Contact page and in your booking confirmation.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version published on this website on the date you pay an advance or confirm a booking is the version that applies to that transaction. Material changes will show a new “Last updated” date.
